Welcome to Foundations in Prenatal and Perinatal Dynamics
We are so glad you are here!
The objective of the Foundations in Prenatal and Perinatal Dynamics is to give you basic and some intermediate skills to navigate stress and trauma responses. Our education has autonomic nervous system capacities as a baseline for helping families who have had difficult births. You will learn:
Times Each Day
Dates: May 16-19, 2024
Thursday- Sunday: 9:30 am - 6 pm, with 1.5 hours for lunch at 1 pm
Sunday: 9:30 am - 3 pm, with 1 hour for lunch
Accommodations and Logistics
Venue: Hawthorn East District, Melbourne, VIC
Exact address will be provided with registration
Transport:
Nearest Tram – No: 72 to Burke & Rathmines/Canterbury Rd intersection (five-minute walk)
Nearest Train - Belgrave or Lilydale line to Camberwell station (ten-minute walk) or Auburn station (12-minute walk)
Parking -
The venue is in a residential street. There is unlimited parking on the south side of Temple Street and along Rathmines Rd which can be accessed via an alleyway (continuation of Stewart St on Google map) which is two doors from the venue.
Food: Morning and afternoon teas will be provided. Please specify food sensitivities & preferences on booking your place.
Cafes & Restaurants
You can byo food for lunches or access cafes along Burke, Auburn, Burwood or Camberwell Roads. These are approx. a 10- to 15-minute walk from Temple St. Glenferrie Rd Hawthorn is a 5-minute drive away and is also lined with cafes and restaurants.
Burke Rd: Provence Artisan Bakers; Golden Leaves Café; Suzuran (Japanese)
Burwood Rd: Blood Orange; Zoobibi; St Cloud Eating House (Vietnamese)
Auburn Rd: Hello Sailor; Sanctuary & Co; Geebung Hotel (pub);
Camberwell Rd: Lights In The Attic; Celadon Thai

- Basic skills to help stabilize someone who is a trauma or stress response;
- Recognition of imprints of trauma in the body, and blueprint ways to counter or balance them;
- Skills of presence, relationship, listening, recognition and conversation to engage your clients and families;
- Intermediate skills to work with difficult states in the body, and layers of support for yourself and your families;
- An understanding of the baby's experience, and a chance to dip into your own early experience.
