About Prenatal and Perinatal Health

The pre- and perinatal period includes the time before conception, pregnancy, birth and the first year of life. Many aspects of health come into play. Recent findings in cell biology, neuroscience and epigenetics emphasize that our being is influenced by our ancestors experiences, our mother's experience when we were in-utero, our birth and bonding and attachment with our caregivers. These early and ancestral experiences can influence our genetic code and create implicit memories that in turn, influence our perceptions and experiences today. Health and healing in these domains can be divided into prevention and treatment.  Programs at the Center support both approaches.

Most importantly, programs and therapies at the Center seek to support positive healthy imprints from the primal period, embodying the "yes" in the answers to these questions:

  • Am I safe?
  • Am I wanted?
  • Am I welcome?
  • Am I loveable?
  • Do I belong?
  • Am I protected?
  • Am I seen, felt and heard?
These questions and more describe what babies need and what people need for optimal health.
Articles by Kate on Prenatal and Perinatal work

Online Ebook: "I Had a Baby": Three Steps in Healing Difficult Births
Over many years of practice, I developed an approach to help families heal from difficult births. Our training program for professionals addresses the layers of experience a family has when getting pregnant, carrying a baby, birthing and after the baby is born.

Our program has been so successful, we wrote an ebook that can help you get started healing right away. We recommend an appointment with Kate, a member of her teaching team, or one of her graduates or colleages. The three steps are outlined below and are in the attached pdf.

The Baby is in the Shadow
One of Kate's first presentations, The Baby is in the Shadow is about her path of becoming a practitioner prenatal and perinatal healing. It includes the story of our discipline, and it ends with how fetal brain science is affirming what we have known all this time. All we need now is to create the practices that fill in the gap between policy and research.
The Language of PPN
This presentation is part of our Introduction to Prenatal and Perinatal Dynamics, a hybrid online and in person course that offers the building blocks to understanding working with the quest for safety, pregnancy, birth and support for families in the childbearing year.
The Blueprint: Our Unifying Field's Potential for Connection and Wholeness
A 90 minute interview with Ray Castellino produced by Kindred Media. Ray Castellino explains the Blueprint, with its natural resonances and rhythms, and how this awareness supports parents wishing to connect with their babies, especially babies who are finding challenges in birth recovery or breastfeeding.
By listening intently and offering gentle feedback, Kate reminded me how miraculous it was that I was creating another human. She helped empower me as a woman. I left feeling better all over – inside and out!
