Listening is a key tool to help establish a healing relationship between practitioners and their clients/patients. The recent crisis in maternal health witnessing mortality and morbidity of pregnant and birthing women/parents is a space where listening skills can be lifesaving. In fact, National Public Radio's expose on the crisis revealed how birthing parents don't feel listened to or believed leading to a culture of Denial and Delay of care.
"What is the shape of our listening? Imagine your listening is a bowl. Is the bowl clear, or are there things in there? If there are, deepen into an awareness and accounting for this and practice ways to clear the bowl, to offer a clear and open space for listening." -- Elsa Asher, MA, RCST®
Listening is a key element to Integrated Prenatal and Perinatal Dynamics. Come, Study, Learn, Heal, and come especially to this talk by Elsa Asher, MA, RCST®, prenatal, perinatal and attachment practitioner.
