Introduction to Baby Dynamics™: Somatic Tools for the Baby Dynamics™ Practitioner
A practical support group for touch professionals who work with babies and their families
This is an introduction to a monthly study group for touch professionals wanting to improve and grow their skills in working with babies. Pediatric, lactation and birthing professionals are all reporting an increase in issues in babies that can be addressed by competent bodyworkers, including torticollis, plagiocephaly, difficulty with breastfeeding, increase in tongue tie, difficulty settling, disrupted sleep cycles, developmental issues, and more. Because somatic therapists work with their hands, they can recognize strain patterns and fascial adhesions. Babies are a unique population. Because they cannot explain their symptoms with words, somatic therapists are ideal to understand the challenges they face and how to help them. Intelligent and loving touch has been identified as a need for babies. Parents can also be taught to work with their children; in fact this is ideal. Babies benefit from small daily doses of bodywork and awareness on the part of the parent.
This introductory course is a qualifying experience for anyone interested in being a part of Baby Dynamics study groups. These monthly groups will consist of support for professionals working with babies and their families; didactic teaching on a range of issues, including
